Pay attention Rory. Gallagher is a player that looks very busy, high energy, but produces nothing and dictates nothing.

As a Middlesbrough fan I have had to suffer from Southgate’s management for 18 years and in that time he hasn’t changed or grown as a manager. As an England and Middlesbrough fan all I want is hope, hope that we can do something, we can win something and to be fair to Southgate he helped rebuilt the hope in England, but after three failed tournaments it was clear he was holding this squad back. It was clear going to this euros that he’s a hopeless manager blessed with a talented squad and the only surprise is that some people are surprised that he is delivering such poor performances!

Just keep him. He is doing well.

The really stupid thing here is all those English commentators, socalled journalists, "clever" armchair "experts" and the many often very ignorant fans, who were actually seriously expecting an easy win against a very organised, tactically skilled and well prepared Danish team, which btw. also consists of many players from big clubs around Europe, who are used to this level and the pace - only thinking about their own rather overestimated Premiere League and its many overpriced stars in the England team, who are often not able to work very well together, who are not always willing to run more than strictly necessary for each others, and who are even terrified of failure on top that because of the often superhysterical reactions in the English press and among the fans in case of a lost match. The Danish team already KNEW in advance that they stood a really great chance of getting a good result against the very predictable, poorly organised and mostly harmless England team - especially after watching the second half of England - Serbia, where the Serbs had great successing stressing the rather mediocre English defensive players with a very high aggressive pressure, as they were attempting to play forward, thereby forcing them to make lots of simple and very nearly catastrophic passing errors. So the Danish team had respect for England before this match of course, but only so much. Add then add to that the usual and typically rather unfounded overconfident English attitude, where this seemingly "easy" match on paper is already won mentally by the England players in advance - as well as by all the "oh-so-clever" English experts, "journalists" and viewers etc. - , where there is hardly any point in playing the match at all, and it's really just going to be a question, wether it will be 3, 4 or 5 to nil for England -, and you have once again set yourselves up for yet another disaster against an on paper smaller team. And with that kind of wrong attitude and false overconfidence this may very well happen to England again against a now very enthusiastic Slovenia team, which is not a bad team at all having many skilled, tactical and disciplined hard working players. And then England actually runs the risk on top of that of only ending up third in its group and potentially even having to face a very strong and confident German team in Germany (!) in its 1/8 final. And we all know, how those matches usually end, don't we? 😂

These ratings aren't brutal, mate, they are more like a euphemism. I guess for you a 5/10 is 2/10 on a normal scale or something?

I think 5-3-2 wouldn't be a bad shout use Trent and Trippier as Wing backs, put Walker into RCB, Bellingham into 8, Foden into 10 and instead of playing wingers put Watkins upfront with Kane to run off him.

Trent is MUCH better with his left foot than Tripps, and he could still cross with his right from the left. Should Trent play LB instead of Tripps and Gallagher or Mainoo going into the midfield?

I don’t actually agree that Pickford played that well. He kicked it long far too often for my liking and also at the wrong moments, when there was nothing to be gained from it. That’s a big part of his job. He didn’t make any blunders, but his decision-making left a lot to be desired IMO.

England are scared because of Southgate, not as a manager, but as a man! Look at his body language, his timid, placid nature shines through. He is the definition of a nice guy who doesn’t like conflict and that shows in how England play, end of.

Same with Kane,palmer, watkins. Give positions where we have multiple good players, less time if they dont deliver, try another

It’s pretty clear the players are worries about the negative press they might get if they loose playing with freedom. So they play within themselves knowing Southgate will take the heat. I honestly think our players are STILL scared of the big teams in Europe but now they know it’s perceived they should win. Despite having never done so with easier opportunities. I still want Southgate out as he’s telling them to not play they way they want. He’s enabling their inaction. But they are deciding to be lethargic on the pitch.

Trent in midfield does not work because 2 out of the front 3 like to come towards the ball instead of running in behind. At Liverpool he has Diaz/Nuñez/Salah all getting beyond the backline, but in an England shirt he has Foden and Kane playing behind him at times so Saka is the only outball.
